Tyrone is gearing up for baseball and softball and track season which starts this coming Monday, but some of Tyrone’s basketball players will lace ‘em up one more time at Philipsburg.
The First Annual Mountain Athletic Conference All-Star games will be held this Saturday, in the Philipsburg-Osceola High School gymnasium.
The Senior Girls game will tip off at 6:00 p.m., featuring senior players from the Nittany Division against the Allegheny Division. Participating in the event for Tyrone will be Lady Eagle leading scorer Kayla Corle (249 points) and point guard Brooke Garbinsky who specialized in three pointers (31 this season), and Lindsay Christine (119 points). They will be teamed with girls from Bald Eagle Area and Philipsburg-Osceola.
The second half of the All-Star doubleheader will feature MAC senior boys. Tyrone will be represented by point guard Brandon Gehret who was a pivotal part of Tyrone’s deep run into the playoffs and Matt Brooks who was the Eagles third leading scorer with 230 points. They will be teamed with Philipsburg-Osceola and Penns Valley.
George Gripp and his coaching staff will be guide the Nittany Division boys team.
