Genevieve Engelman Barnhart, 81 of Murraysville died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 in the Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont.
She was born Jan. 16, 1924 in Tyrone, daughter of the late Adolph and Marie Bumann Engelman.
She was a graduate of Mount Aloysius Junior College, Indiana State Teachers College and the University of Pittsburgh.
She was formerly an art teacher for the Lower Burrell School District and was a floral designer.
She was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Church, Murraysville, the Ladies Guild of the church, Murraysville Garden Club and was very active in various interests in Murraysville.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Tim Barnhart, Jr. in 1998; four sisters, Mary E. Finley, Louse E. Heinly, Eleanor E. Hughes and Madeline E. Laird and a brother, Adolph Engelman.
Genevieve is survived by three children: Thomas J. Barnhart III and his wife Jean of Grove City; Anne B. Hagy and her husband, John of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Christopher W. Barnhart and his wife Tara of Ligonier; six grandchildren; a brother, William Engelman of Tyrone and a sister, Mary Bernard Engelman of Avilla, IN.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murraysville.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Mother of Sorrows Church, Murraysville with Father John Moineau as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
