Clair L. “Bud” Aults, 77, of 325 Shippen St., Tyrone, died at 7:34 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Tyrone Hospital.
He was born November 1, 1927 in Tyrone, a son of Richard and Elva (Parks) Aults. He was married June 28, 1952 in Tyrone to Vivian Simondale.
He is survived by his wife, a son Gerald L. Aults and his wife Crystle of Brocton, N.Y. and daughter Kathy Bowden and her husband Bill of Sebastian, Fla; seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Alexis, Sara, Emily, Brady, Sam and Ben; two great-grandchildren: Courtney and Robbie and a brother Edgar Aults of Hendersonville, Tenn.
He was a member of the Tyrone First English Lutheran Church and a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1948. He was a member of the Hookies Fire Co. and the Monogram Club. He was an avid bowler for 40 years and had bowled a “300”.
He managed the Little League Baseball “Yankee Team” for 23 years, then managed the American Legion Baseball Team and in 1978 at Springdale, Pa. he was inducted into the Pa. American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame. He always enjoyed his grandchildren, working, parks and ballfields.
He retired in 1990 as a stock clerk from Chicago Rivet and Machine Co. after 40 years service and also worked at East End Pizza in Tyrone for 40 years.
Since his retirement, he kept busy helping at the Tyrone Med-Center Pharmacy.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Tyrone First English Lutheran Church with Rev. TM Talbot-Moses officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Twp.
Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at the Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be given to the First English Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 17 West 13th St., Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
