Both Tyrone Junior High boys basketball teams completed a fruitful road trip Wednesday, each picking up their 19th win of the season, as the Eagles traveled to State College to take on the Our Lady of Victory Crusaders.
The eighth graders won the prelim game 31-10, and the ninth graders won 45-12.
The 8th grade Eagles played a bit tentative in the first half, only leading by a basket 6-4 after the first quarter, and 11-8 at the half.
But they got things rolling strong in the third quarter with a 12-0 run that had them leading 23-8 going into the final period. Dillon McKeehan scored four of his nine game-high points during that quarter with another four added down low by Mark Bryan.
They cruised through the final period 8-2 as the bench did most of the scoring.
Nine Eagles got into the scoring column.
Tyrone won 31-10, and raised their record to 19-4.

The ninth grade Eagles got 10 players into the scoring column in an easy 45-12 win over Our Lady of Victory.
Starting off with a 12-4 first quarter lead, coaches Mitchell and Elvey got the bench into the game early and often.
The Eagles went into halftime leading 25-10, then blanked the Crusaders in to third period 9-0 to take a commanding 34-10 advantage into the final quarter.
Tyrone won 45-12, upping their record to 19-1.
Kyle Updyke, Nate Dane, and Wes Young all had six points each to lead the scoring with five each from Travis Peterman and Alex Lynn.
