The Lady Blue Devil\’s hosted backyard rival Tyrone, on Wednesday evening, as they celebrated Senior Night. Along with honoring three special players, seniors Andrea Gardner, Lauren Leap, and Chelsea Young, the Lady Blue Devils won three straight games from the Tyrone girls to improve their record to 15-2, with only a home match against Bishop Guilfoyle tonight remaining on their regular season schedule, before District 6 playoffs begin for the B-A girls and first-year head coach Allison Clabuagh.
Bellwood-Antis won 25-14, 25-11 and 25-9.
The three seniors each had a large part in the Blue Devil victory.
Setter Lauren Leap had 18 points, including eight aces. Lauren put up 15 assists and had one solo block.
Outside Hitter Andrea Gardner had five kills and four digs.
Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist Chelsea Young had three digs, one kill, and five service points.
Lady Blue Devil junior Chelsea Wilson contributed to the victory with nine kills and four blocks and nine service points. Alyson Sharer and Rachel Albright each added 11 service points
Lindsay Christine had six kills to lead Tyrone (1-14) which ended their regular season, and Jess Miller added six service points for the Lady Eagles.
The Bellwood-Antis junior varsity also defeated the Lady Eagles, winning two straight games by identical scores of 25-19, 25-19.
Megan Hinterberger led the way for the Lady Blue Devil junior varsity with 12 service points, and Emily Sinisi added five service points.
The Bellwood-Antis/Bishop Guilfoyle junior varsity match will begin at 6 p.m. tonight, with the varsity match to follow.
