Gamesa held a presentation open to the public last evening at the Tyrone Area High School. Gamesa representatives provided information about wind energy, windmill construction plans and renewable energy. Afterwards, Gamesa answered questions the public had regarding wind energy, windmill construction and any impact windmills would have on the surrounding environment. At far left, Ellen Lutz, Director of Development, Atlantic Region, of Gamesa Energy USA, outlined their plans for a proposed wind farm on Tyrone\’s Ice Mountain. In all there were nearly 30 persons in attendance, with about eight from Tyrone Borough. In the middle, Juniata Valley Audubon President Stan Kotala contended at the meeting that the wind farm project proposed could have disastrous implications for Ice Mountain\’s ecosystem as well as its drinking water.
