Tyrone Community Day is right around the corner and the Chicken Barbecue tickets are due to go on sale July 7, 2008 and will be available at the Tyrone Chamber and other local businesses.
The Tyrone Community Day is scheduled to be held at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park on Friday, August 1, 2008 where everyone in the community is invited. Please note that advanced barbecue tickets are first come first serve, but as long as residents attend early, there should be no problem.
This year the Joshua House will present a Mini-Golf Tournament open to all ages from Kindergarten to 2008 Graduates of Tyrone Area High School. There will be three divisions split accordingly from K through fifth grade, sixth through ninth grade and ninth through 12th grade.
Albemarle is sponsoring the free all-day ride and slide pass from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. next to the main ticket plaza-adjacent to Murf’s patio. Don’t miss out on the free rides!
Around 2 p.m., children’s games will be held at the center of the park.
From 5 to 6:30 p.m., the chicken barbecue will be held and it is a first come, first serve basis.
For the All-Class Reunion, bring out the yearbooks to Pavilion No. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. where everyone can look back at the familiar faces that graduated together. Have a blast from the past at Pavilion No. 2 and remember the good times.
At 6 p.m., a Tyrone Talent Search is looking for more entrants and some more comedians. Admission is free and prizes will be delivered to the best performance and overall crowd control. The best performance means $100 in cash, so don’t miss out on a great way to earn a couple bucks!
Of course, the best is for last. The Tyrone Community Raffle will take place after the talent show where several donated prizes from around the area will be raffled off to conclude the community day. To donate an item and have the raffle item submitted and displayed, register at Gardner’s, the Tyrone Chamber or the Daily Herald by July 2 through July 25.
