The Ninth Annual Tyrone Area Business and Career Expo is scheduled for tomorrow, and the public is encouraged to attend free of charge.
The Expo will be held at the Tyrone Area High School Gymnasium from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For this year’s event, Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Expo committee members have invited area businesses and educational institutions to participate by setting up informational booths and displays. Many representatives from the participating businesses and educational institutions will also be on hand to provide information to all those in attendance.
Expo committee members always invite Tyrone Area High School students in grades nine through 12 to take part in the event as well, which insures a busy day for all involved.
The businesses, schools and organizations that are scheduled to take part in the Expo include: Albemarle Corporation, Allegany College of Maryland, Altoona Beauty School, Altoona Regional Health System-Prevention Services, Andrea’s School of Dance, Balfurd Inc., Best Buy of State College, Central PA Institute of Science & Technology, Tyrone Colonial Courtyard, Conner Heating & Air Conditioning, Cowfer’s Custom Design, DelGrosso Foods, Inc./DelGrosso’s Amusement Park/Marianna’s Fundraisers, Gardners Candy, GATC, Practical Nursing Program; GATC, Continuing Education and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Also, Lock Haven University, Manpower Inc. of Altoona, Body Mind Connection Therapeutic massage, Mount Aloysius College, PA Department of Agriculture, PA Department of Transportation, PA DOC, SCI Rockview; Penn Highlands College, Penn State Altoona, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State Police, Princess House Products, Procare Health Systems, Inc., Pruonto’s Hair Design Institute and PSU Air Force ROTC.

Every year, the Expo gets bigger and better, so don’t miss this opportunity to participate.
Also, the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce will continue its award program by using part of the proceeds from registration at the Expo to recognize an outstanding graduating senior who is pursuing a career in business.
