Traveling to Martinsburg’s Central High School field, Tyrone Legion was doubled up by Barkman Oil on Monday evening in George B. Kelley Federation baseball action, 10-5.
Tyrone Legion scored first in the top of the first inning, but Barkman Oil countered with a pair of scores in their half of the frame and continued to score adding at least a run in every inning for the victory.
Josh Clark and Tom Simms each had two hits to lead Tyrone Legion, who pounded out 10 hits, but also committed four errors in the field to none for Barkman Oil. Simms had a double and Mike Moore slugged a triple for the Legion club.
Drew Ebersole led Barkman Oil with a three-for-four effort that included a triple and two runs scored.
Tyler Nash, who fanned three and didn’t walk a batter, earned the win in relief for Barkman, while Tyrone Legion starter Jamie Levinson, who knocked in a run, took the loss for Tyrone Legion. Levinson walked one and struck out one.
Tyrone Legion (4-7) will play Park Furniture at Vets Field on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
