Joshua House will be hosting its eighth annual community Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Joshua House.
The dinner is open to the whole community at no charge.
In years past, Joshua House has worked with the Tyrone Salvation Army Service Center and area churches to bring this free meal to the Tyrone area community.
“Every year, it serves between 125 to 150 people, and it’s a great community event,” added Jim Kilmartin, founder and director of Joshua House. “We welcome you all to join us. Tyrone is such a tight knit community, so we want to make this a family atmosphere. If you can’t join us, we offer delivery services as well. Just call ahead and let us know.”
Kilmartin is currently looking for volunteers to help with the dinner as well as donations of food and paper products.
Joshua House is located at 123 W. 10th Street, Tyrone. The mailing address is P.O. Box 27, Tyrone, PA 16686.

Looking ahead to Christmas, Joshua House will also be collecting items for Christmas gift giving.
Kilmartin said, “We gather gifts for needy families in the Tyrone community.”
Anyone interested in donating items for Christmas gift giving should contact Kilmartin.
The Joshua House Community Center is celebrating 10 years in the Tyrone area community.
The slogan is: “Building community with kids, youth and young adults through athletics, education and faith.”
