Getting ready for the holidays
Tyrone Borough employees have been busy putting up the town’s Christmas lights and decorations. Now, the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce is asking anyone who is interested to donate to this year’s “Christmas Lighting Fund” to continue the tradition of decorating the town so beautifully for the holidays. With the holiday season only a few weeks away, the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual “Christmas Lighting Fund Appeal” to bring the community another year of fantastic decorations, lights and festivities.
In the past years, with the help of generous donations from people in the community, the Chamber of Commerce was able to light the streets of Tyrone. The community’s past support has made possible the purchase of snowflake banners, stars, bows and two sky liners.
It is the Chamber’s hope to continue with the tradition of making the Tyrone community a centerpiece of northern Blair County by again decorating this beautiful community for the “Holiday Season”.
The “Christmas Lighting Fund” is only one of many ways that the Chamber of Commerce of Tyrone Area shows its commitment to the enhancement of the community.
At this time, the Chamber is asking that the whole community be part of their efforts to provide support for the project. By making a monetary donation to the “Christmas Lighting Fund”, everyone can make a difference in the life of the people of Tyrone.
Those who wish to donate or have any questions may call Rose Black at the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce at 684-0736.
Checks should be made payable to “Tyrone Christmas Lighting” and be mailed to the Chamber office at 1004 Logan Avenue. Please include your name, address, phone number and e-mail, along with the amount of the donation.
The Daily Herald also runs a “Christmas Lighting” coupon that can be clipped out and mailed into the Chamber office. It appears on page 8 of today’s paper.
The Chamber thanks everyone for their continued support, and with everyone’s help, they look forward to lighting this beautiful town once again.
