Mr. Earl K. Goss, age 89, a guest at Epworth Manor, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 8:10 a.m. at the Manor. He was born April 29, 1919 in Tyrone, the son of William K. and Mable L. Fry Goss. In 1956 he was married at the First English Lutheran Church to Jean S. Hicks who preceded him in death December 31, 1981. He is survived by two step-sons, James Hicks of Palmdale, NB and Russell Hicks of Charlotte, NC, one sister, Betty, wife of Robert Keatley of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Mr. Goss was a graduate of Tyrone High School, Class of 1940 and served in the Army Air Corp with the 100th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force in England in World War II. He retired in 1984 from Hadco Co. of Owego, NY as a machine operator after 14 years service and was previously employed at Chicago Rivet and Machine Co. in Tyrone.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Epworth Manor Chapel, 925 S. Lincoln Avenue, Tyrone with Pastor Mark Liller officiating. Interment will be made in Tioga Cemetery, Owego, NY.
