In an ongoing effort to provide area students with wholesome recreational activities, Paul Keirn, owner of Splinter’s Lanes, Altoona, has announced a program called, “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling”.
The program will provide thousands of dollars worth of free bowling and shoe rental to students during the summer months.
Splinter’s Lanes will provide a special student ID card to every student in the local school districts, as well as to students in private schools in the area.
The cards have been distributed to the Hollidaysburg, Bellwood and Tyrone schools.
Any student in the Altoona School District can pick up their card at Splinter’s. The card will entitle the student to one free game of bowling every day of the summer from June through August. Bowling shoes are also included.
Splinter’s Lanes and Sheetz believe the program is an investment in the community’s future. Bowling is a lifetime sport that can be enjoyed by anyone, any age, any size and any background.
They believe this program will give kids something else to do this summer that is positive and constructive.
