The Tyrone Girls Volleyball team improved their record to 10-2 with a two games to one victory over Moshannon Valley on Monday night at the Tyrone Elementary School gym.
The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Damsels 15-7, 7-15, 15-9 with Lindsey Bailey scoring 10 service points, Lauren Haag had 12 kills and Amber DelBaggio contributed 16 assists.
“I was impressed by the girls’ aggressiveness in the first game,” said Tyrone coach Dave Eckberg. “They went after the ball and played as well as we have all year. Lauren was flying into the ball and taking some big swings. Service and hitting errors really hurt us in the second game. We were playing back on our heals. Lindsey Bailey did a nice job serving in the third game. That really made the difference.”
The Moshannon Valley junior varsity defeated the Lady Eagle Jayvees in the preliminary 15-12, 15-6 with Jen Slick fronting the winners with 12 service points, while Katie Whitby had eight service points for Tyrone.
