Bellwood-Antis outscored Mt. Union 29 to 13 in the second half on Tuesday at Bellwood, to up their season record to 9-4 with a 47-43 win over Mount Union.
Trailing 30 to 18 at the half, the Little Blue Devils came out in the second half with a full court zone press that created numerous turnovers by the Trojans.
“We needed to start the second half strong and take back the momentum of the game. Our press was the difference and we played solid team defense the entire second half” said Bellwood coach Rodger Fair.
Blaze Winterstein and Tyler Elvey led the way for the Blue Devils with 13 points each. Tony DelGrosso chipped in off the bench with five fourth-quarter points.
Mount Union was led by John Martinez with 25 points.
Next up for Bellwood is a visit from Juniata Valley on Thursday, January 23.
