Tyrone Junior High Boys improved their record to 14-4 Friday afternoon with a 45-34 win over Penns Valley, at the Tyrone High School gym.
The Little Eagles bolted to a 23 – 8 halftime lead, and then were able to hold off a late rally by the Rams.
Josh Clark led the way with 12 points, while Adam Shaffer tossed in 10. Doug Morrow and Jim Gillam contributed seven and six points respectively to the cause.
“We played extremely well in the first half,” stated Coach Domenick. “I always tell the kids that I can judge how
well we’re playing by the number of assists we have, and the halftime score showed.”
Tyrone’s eighth grade team dominated Penns Valley’s “B” team, 32 – 10, with 10 players got into the scoring column.
Josh Bradley led the way with nine points as they raised their record to 10-5.
Tyrone’s next outing will be Monday at the Tyrone Area High School gym when they play host to Bellwood-Antis. Start time for the eighth grade game is 3:15.
