Hollidaysburg state police
Police were called to Bickels Surplus Store along state Route 4019 in the Pinecroft area at 2:42 p.m. Aug. 23 to investigate a reported retail theft.
According to police, Kenneth A. Wolf of Grampian inadvertently departed the store with an item valued at $4.50.
Upon arriving at the mentioned store and talking with store employees, it was determined that Wolf did not intentionally remove the item, therefore the incident was classified as unfounded.

Two 14-year-old boys reported to police that a bicycle was stolen from a wooded area near SR 4019 and Becker Road in Antis Township between 2:15 and 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 while they were rafting.
One boy reported that his bicycle was damaged and left at the scene.

Police were called to Sinking Valley Road at 9:45 p.m. Thursday to investigate a single-car accident.
Police said Angela Bracciale of Altoona was traveling at a high rate of speed along SR 1013. The vehicle went airborne after cresting a hill, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The Ford Focus traveled across the roadway and struck a tree, causing it to spin and strike a second tree.
The passenger in the vehicle, Brooke Yeager of Altoona was entrapped for about an hour and was freed y mechanical means. She was airlifted to Altoona Hospital.
Both individuals were not wearing seatbelts, according to police, and suffered severe injuries.
Police were assisted at the scene by AMED EMS, Bellwood EMS, Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co. and Sinking Valley Volunteer Fire Co.
