The Bellwood-Antis junior high girls basketball team ran their record to 3-1 on Thursday with a 35-24 win over Southern Huntingdon.
Playing at Bellwood in a 4 p.m. start, the Lady Blue Devils were fronted by seventh grader Liz Erickson, who grabbed 15 rebounds and pumped in a game-high 20 points.
Lauren Lender had five points and Brittany Webb and Amanda Ingrim each netted four for Bellwood-Antis.
The B-A girls, coached by Steve Conlon and Chris walker, have already bettered their win total from last year, when the junior high last their first 16 games before getting a win.
“Liz pretty much dominated inside,” said coach Conlon. “She got most of the rebounds and was a force that keyed our win. Overall the girls are playing much better than last year at this same time. We have a nice mixture of girls back from last year and new girls. So far, it has been working really well.”
Jenna Hershey led the Lady Rockets, who fell to 2-2, with 13 points.
