The Tyrone Lady Eagle volleyball squad traveled to Spring Mills hoping to crack the victory column for the first time, but the Lady Rams had other ideas as they turned back Tyrone in three straight games 25-6, 25-14, and 25-14.
The first game saw Penns Valley rattle off four or five points and Tyrone could not get a serve in as they fell 25-6. The second and third game were much different as the Lady Eagles stepped it up and everyone was hustling for every ball.
“We need to serve better obviously, we just give them points without any effort although Chesie Santoni gave us life with four service points in Game Three,” Head Coach Jim Cushion stated after the game. “Kassie Gardner was all over the court and Jess Thomas found a new weapon by playing balls off the net,” Cushion added.
Tyrone drops to 0-6 and travels to Lewistown next Tuesday.
Tyrone’s Junior Varsity team also lost two straight 25-16 and 25-15.
Kim Fink and Suzanne Zimmerman led Tyrone with seven service points each.
