The Park Avenue Playground Program will be raising money for its first annual Walk-A-Thon. The Walk-A-Thon will be held on Monday, July 30.
On the day of the event, the children will meet at the Park Avenue Playground at 8:45 a.m. They will then walk to Reservoir Park. The Children will get a chance to play for a while and receive a snack when they are at Reservoir Park. Afterward, they will walk back to the Park Avenue Playground.
Program leaders discussed the Walk-A-Thon with the children participating in the Park Avenue Program and the children wanted to give half of the money they raised to a children’s organization in Tyrone. The other half will go to the playground program. The children are currently asking for donations and will continue to do so until Wednesday, July 25.
The children’s organization that they have chosen to give half of the money raised was the Children’s Room at the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library. Whatever the library chooses to purchase with the money that the playground donates will include some type of indication as to who donated the item.
Everyone involved with the program is excited for this event held for the first time ever.
