On Monday, the Golden Eagle JV Baseball Team traveled to Huntingdon to face of with the Bearcats.
Things started out well for the Golden Eagles as the team pounded out four hits and took advantage of six walks to score eight runs in the second inning of the contest.
Unfortunately, that would be the only scoring they would have in a heart-breaking 9-8 loss over 10 innings of play.
Huntingdon made a pitching change in the third inning bringing in their shortstop Sellers to pitch. Sellers did not allow a run over the next eight innings of play.
Tyrone pitchers allowed Huntingdon hitters a total of 13 hits, six walks and the defense committed four costly errors. Derrick Dasher took the loss for Tyrone.
Golden Eagle hitters turning in decent performances included Jared Templeton going 3-for-5 along with Jeremy Miller and Ian Murray each going 2-or-5 in the contest.
