Time is running out for those interested in viewing artwork at Joybeans, created by local artists Eric and Tracy Feather.
Friday is the last chance area residents will have to be able to see the original paintings and unique pottery at the coffee shop, such as the downtown Tyrone LaVilla Restaurant painting pictured below.
What makes the exhibit even more special is not only are Eric and Tracy local artists, but they have been married to each other for nine years.
They create art in their home and studio located in Imler.
Eric is an art instructor at Tyrone Area Middle/High School. His art primarily consists of two-dimensional drawings, paintings and collages. He has exhibited and sold numerous works in regional and national exhibitions.
His talents can be observed in original artworks, murals and set designs for musicals in the Tyrone community. Eric’s work reflects his many interests with its broad range of media and subject.
“I enjoy working in most traditional drawing and painting media, and lately, I’ve been adding collage and three-dimensional elements to my paintings,” said Eric.
“The subjects range from traditional landscapes to expressive portraiture with surrealist tendencies.”
Tracy focuses on wheel-thrown pottery. She produces a variety of decorative forms on which she experiments with surface pattern and glaze application.
Her work has been purchased by numerous private collectors and can be seen on display in many regional galleries and gift shops.
“Several years ago, I decided to pursue my interest in pottery full-time,” Tracy said. “I love working on the potters’ wheel. When all goes well, it’s a very meditative and enjoyable experience.
“I often enhance the forms with handles, lids or carved shapes. My goal is to achieve a balance of craftsmanship and creative vision.”
