Practice has been going better today. The defensive line is flying to the ball better, but we still have a lot of work to do. We are looking better today than the past couple days. The weather didn’t affect morning practice. It rained before we went out, but it was nice by that time.
I like offensive practice the best. Offense is my favorite because I get to run the ball.
I have ben playing safety on defense. This year, I am rotating in a lot more after not getting much time on defense before. Hopefully, I will get a little bit of time in playing safety on defense. I remember some of the things I need to know about the position from the past couple years, but this year, since I’ll be playing more, I really have to pay more attention than I did before.
Tyrone high school football is a great tradition. We have some excellent things going on here. Coach Franco is one of the best coaches around. He stresses a lot of discipline and makes teams come together and work hard. Tyrone football is pretty special.
Ben Gummo and Terry Tate and Ralph Van Allman have been taking the roles as leaders. Maceno too, has really stepping it up, getting the team fired up before practices. Terry has really been taking control of the line. I’m doing more about taking charge than I did last year. but its more leading by example than being really vocal and yelling. I feel like I’m practicing harder than I did last year. I could probably be more vocal.
We have been practicing hard for the first four days. On Friday we will do practice a little differently geting ready for the firsdt scrimmage. We really don’t do anything special for it other than cut back a little and get a little extra rest on the Friday practice. We treat it like a practice game.
The Bellwood game is always big. This year that game is in the conference. We want to give Bellwood a nice welcome to the new conference and show them what its all about. So, hopefully we play a good game and do our best.
