Peter Byich, Director of Nutrition Services at Tyrone Hospital, is the recipient of Metz & Associates, LTD Gold Star Achievement Award.
Metz & Associates is the firm that manages the Nutrition Services department at Tyrone Hospital. Metz & Associates grants the Gold Star Achievement Award to recognize employees for outstanding performance.
Byich is responsible for the management of food services at Tyrone Hospital which includes patient nutrition services, catering for special hospital functions and meetings, and a snack bar that services hospital employees and the public. He supervises a staff of eight employees.
Since joining Tyrone Hospital in April 2004, Byich and his staff have introduced a number of enhancements in the nutrition services department including the introduction of preferred dining for hospital inpatients, an expanded snack bar menu, and also conducted a customer preference survey to identify additional development opportunities.
Byich said he was surprised to receive the Gold Star Achievement recognition, since he has been in his current position for a relatively short period of time.
“A lot has been accomplished in a short amount of time because of the hard work and dedication of the employees in the nutrition services department. They really come together as a team to make things happen,” said Byich.
