A 24-year-old Hollidaysburg man was arrested yesterday for the murder of his grandfather.
According to state police, Thomas Scott Drass entered the residence of 69-year-old Dwayne M. Chamberlain at 5:30 p.m. Monday and shot him once with a shotgun. Chamberlain was pronounced dead at the scene by the Blair County Coroner.
Drass was later arrested at the scene in Linds Crossing, Frankstown Township. He was due to be arraigned last night on a charge of general homicide, according to a press release from the Hollidaysburg state police.
A press conference was scheduled to be held today at the barracks after The Daily Herald’s press deadline. No further information was available this morning as the trooper in charge of the press conference did not return a message left for him.
