An Altoona woman was involved in a hit and run accident with an unknown driver on Dec. 8, 2004 at the intersection of State Route 764 (old 220) and State Route 4018 (Pinecroft intersection) in Antis Township.
The unidentified driver was traveling south on old 220 at the same time Connie Stewart was driving north on the road.
The unidentified driver made a left turn at the intersection and traveled in front of Stewart’s van and hit it.
The driver left the scene without providing necessary information. He was described as in his early to mid-20s with dark hair.
Police described his vehicle as a white and tan Ford Explorer with damage to the right front passenger side of the vehicle.
Stewart’s vehicle had damage to the left front of it.

An unidentified male victim reported he was harassed at a residence in Antis Township on Dec. 9, 2004 by another man, not identified in the police press release.
However, the victim reported he knew the harasser.

A rural Altoona man escaped injury in a one-vehicle accident on Dec. 9, 2004 at 1:55 p.m. on State Route 4019 in Antis Township.
Twenty-year-old Michael S. McGeary was driving north on the road around a sharp left turn and lost control of his vehicle on the wet road. The vehicle rolled on its roof.
Police said the vehicle sustained severe damage.

A Tyrone man was involved in a one-vehicle DUI crash on State Route 220, approximately 100 yards south of Fowler Hollow Road in Taylor Township on Dec. 10, 2004 at 3:45 a.m.
The crash occurred when 27-year-old Kenneth Michael LeMaster was driving south on the road and fell asleep at the wheel of his SUV. His vehicle veered off of the laned road onto the south bound berm and hit part of a guiderail.
The SUV traveled up onto the guiderail and did not come down until it reached the end of that portion of the guiderail. When it did, the vehicle veered into a watery ditch and rolled onto its left side after its momentum ceased.
DUI charges and related summary offenses were pending against LeMaster when the police issued their press release on the incident last month.

Police report a burglary and theft at a residence on State Route 220 in Snyder Township on Dec. 10, 2004 between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Someone forcibly entered the unidentified victim’s residence and took a Llama .45 caliber pistol, a Polaroid VCR/DVD player recorder and $500 in change.

State police reported a burglary at a residence along West 13th Street in the Village of Reightown in Antis Township on Dec. 10, 2004 between 1:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Police said a man and a woman were involved in the incident at the residence of Sonia Fink of RD2, Tyrone.
The woman distracted a neighbor and the man forcibly entered Fink’s home and took approximately $150 in coins. About $300 in damage was done to a door at the residence.
Hollidaysburg State police are asking for assistance in the case including anyone seeing suspicious activity in the neighborhood at the time of the crime. Police also are asking any one who noticed a man or woman “cashing in” a large amount of coins on the day of the crime to contact them at 814-696-6100.
Although not revealed in the press release, police said they have identified suspects in the case.

Police arrested Linda Sue Imler-Gittings for DUI last month.
The arrest occurred on East Main Street in Bellwood, Antis Township at 10:07 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2004. The press release offered no other details on the incident.
