After a slow start on Tuesday against Bishop Guilfoyle, the Tyrone Junior High boys basketball team shed their first-game jitters by downing the Panthers in Lewistown 47-39. The win evened their early season record at 1-1.
Seven players made it into the scoring column led by Travis Peterman’s 11 and Jon Harris’s 9. After a slow start in the first quarter left them trailing by a score of 15-7, Tyrone rebounded to tie the score at halftime 21-21.
An 18-6 run in the third quarter made the score 39-27, and a couple of clutch jumpers by Peterman down the stretch in the fourth quarter stopped a Panther comeback and secured the win.
