A Tyrone man was arrested on DUI charges after an incident on State Route 1001 in Logan Township on Oct. 24 at 1:21 a.m.
Twenty-three-year-old Ronald Edward Frank, Jr. was stopped for traffic violations and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. After failing field sobriety tests, he was placed into custody.
Upon conviction, Frank, Jr. faces fines and/or imprisonment, as well as a loss of license.

A 20-year-old Claysburg man was cited for underage drinking after an incident on Brush Mountain Road in Antis Township on Oct. 29 at 7:15 p.m.
Police said Devin Randy Sciranko was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Upon conviction, he faces fines and/or imprisonment and loss of his driver’s license.

A 17-year-old Dubois teen escaped injury in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 350 in Taylor Township, Centre County, at 11:25 a.m. on Oct. 30.
Matthew Gibbons was traveling south on the road and lost control while he was rounding a curve. His vehicle struck a utility pole and had to be towed from the scene. Police said Gibbons was wearing a seat belt. His vehicle had extensive damage.

A 25-year-old Tipton woman was involved in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 1001 in Antis Township at 8:45 p.m. on Oct. 30.
Alena Sunderland was traveling north on the road when a large deer entered the roadway in front of her vehicle. Sunderland’s car struck and killed the deer.
She was wearing her seat belt and was not injured. Her vehicle sustained severe damage.

An Altoona driver was involved in an accident on Interstate 99 in Snyder Township involving two deer on Oct. 31 at 4:30 p.m.
Merle Lower was traveling on the road north bound in the right lane about two miles north of the Tyrone exit when the vehicle hit two deer on the road. Police said the driver was wearing a seat belt. Lower’s vehicle sustained severe frontal damage.

A 56-year-old Claysburg woman escaped injury after her vehicle hit a deer on Interstate 99 on Nov. 1 at 6:55 p.m.
Sandra P. Blair was driving north when she struck the deer when it ran onto the road into the path of her vehicle. Blair was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The deer was killed on impact. Blair’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

State police report a two-vehicle accident on State Route 1001, approximately a mile north of Bellwood in Antis Township on Nov. 2 at 6:25 p.m.
A pick-up truck driven by Donald Ulrich Jr. of RR 7, Altoona was struck as it attempted to turn right from the road into a private driveway. The pick-up truck was hit by a vehicle operated by Aaron Robert Garland of Parkview Estates.
