A 40-year-old Bellwood man has been accused of violating a protection from abuse order after an incident in the Pinecroft area of Antis Township on Feb. 1, 2005 at 8 a.m.
Jeffrey E. Sprankle allegedly placed a single telephone call to the victim, a 33-year-old Altoona woman. Police said Sprankle’s action was in violation of a court order.

A 20-year-old Tyrone man was involved in an harassment incident on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Northwood area of Snyder Township.
Police said Adam L. Woomer allegedly struck 24-year-old Jesse J. Leighty of Altoona during a verbal confrontation.

State police are investigating a burglary and theft in Snyder Township which happened sometime between 6:30 p.m., Feb. 11 and 12:53 a.m., on Feb. 12.
The incident took place when someone entered a residence at the intersection of Decker Hollow and Cooks Hollow Road. Police said money, jewelry and medicine were taken from the residence of Michael James Daugherty and Jenny Lynn Carroll of Tyrone.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at the Hollidaysburg barracks at 814-696-6100.

Two Altoona men were involved in a two-vehicle accident on Feb. 17 at 6:38 a.m. on old Sixth Avenue Road (SR 4019) at Forshey Lane in Antis Township.
A car driven by Dennis M. Eckard was traveling north on State Route 4019 and failed to negotiate a right turn. He lost control on the ice and went into the other lane of travel and collided head on with a truck driven by Vaughn Kruis of RD 3, Altoona.
Kruis suffered moderate injuries and was wearing a seat belt. Eckard was also wearing his seat belt and was not injured.
Eckard’s vehicle was totaled. Kruis’ truck had severe damage. State police were assisted at the scene by Pinecroft Fire Company and Bellwood Ambulance.
