Mrs. Helen G. Wallace, age 86, formerly of 1103 Logan Avenue and a guest at Moran’s Nursing Home, Bellwood, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at 3 p.m. at the Tyrone Hospital.
She was born February 11, 1919 in Buffalo Twp., Union County, the daughter of Lloyd Follmer and Florence E. Klingman Guyer.
On Aug. 17, 1939 at Bellefonte she was married to James E. Wallace who preceded her in death May 27, 1966.
She is survived by a brother, Harold K. Guyer Miller of Clearfield.
Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by three brothers and one sister.
She was of the Protestant faith and was a graduate of State College High School. She was first employed as a secretary at Penn State University and later as the manager of the Montgomery Ward Catalogue Office in Tyrone and retired from Westvaco as a secretary.
She was an active member and officer of the Tyrone Chapter of AARP and was a member of the original Tyrone Players and of the Tyrone Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Funeral service for Mrs. Wallace will be Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Norman E. Huff officiating. Private interment will be made at the convenience of the family in Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
