The Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary purchased a scrubber for the hospital\’s housekeeping department at a cost of $1,160.
Vicky Shaw, newly-elected Vice President of the Auxiliary, said the Auxiliary is pleased to provide support to departments throughout the hospital.
\”The new scrubber will allow the hospital\’s housekeepers to work more efficiently.\”
Other assistance the auxiliary provides to Tyrone Hospital and the community includes an annual donation to support operation of the Care Car which provides free transportation to healthcare appointments for residents of Tyrone. They provide gifts for the hospital\’s New year\’s baby annually.
They provide a party for patients and hospital staff each Halloween, Christmas, and Easter and have purchased equipment for a variety of clinical and support departments over the years.
The Auxiliary is currently conducting a membership drive. The membership fee for a two-year period for both active and supporting membership is $5. All members of the Auxiliary are welcome to attend the organization’s monthly meetings held in the classroom at Tyrone Hospital on the second Tuesday of each month.
