A free concert and a free outdoor movie are both scheduled in downtown Tyrone this evening.
The Tyrone Regional Arts Council’s Fun Friday concert series continues in City Hotel Park with a special youth concert featuring local band “Left on Red”. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Comprised of area musicians, this exciting band plays a variety of original tunes, variations of current hits and inspirational numbers. Lead singer and guitarist is Tyrone native Cory Jones. His brother, Cody Jones, plays drums, with Andy Brisbin on guitar. Ben Gummo rounds out the band on the bass.
In the event of rain, the concert will be held in Joybeans Coffee Shop on Logan Avenue.
Following the concert, walk up the block and stay for an outdoor movie in the M&T parking lot next to Joybeans.
According to a press release from TRAC, the featured presentation, which begins at dusk, is an animated film in which a true canine outcast becomes a heroic legend when he saves an entire Alaskan town with a little help from his friends.
Movies are provided through a special partnership with the Emmanuel Baptist Church Outreach program.
In the event of rain, the movie will be held in the Tyrone Community Players building on Logan Avenue.
Concert and moviegoers should bring blankets or chairs for seating.
