James Robert Shea, Jr., 81, of 1311 Cambria St., Bellwood, died at 3 a.m., Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1925 in Tyrone, the son of James R. and S. Edna Shea, Sr.
He was married to Mary Alice Harpster who died in 1997.
He is survived by sons Todd K. Shea and wife Lexxi of Pennsylvania Furnace, PA and Kevin P. Shea and wife Lisa of Gahanna, OH and daughter Kristin E. Herndon and husband Al of Holt, FL and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughters Kathy and Janine.
He was a former member of the Tyrone Church of the Good Shepherd; a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1943; a member of the American Legion 424, Bellwood; American Legion 281, Tyrone; U.V.A. of Bellwood; a life member and past exulted ruler of the Tyrone Elks Lodge No. 212; the V.F.W. No. 4559; the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1859 of Bellwood and was a veteran of the Army of World War II, serving in the European Theatre.
He retired from Westvaco Corp., Tyrone.
There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. There will be an Elks memorial service and Flag presentation by members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Interment will be at the East Lawn Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour before the service on Friday.
