An Altoona woman, Ashley M. Harn, has plead guilty to violations stemming from an attack by a pack of dogs on a dog that belonged to a Snyder Township man.
Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller said Harn plead guilty Thursday to three separate violations that were issued against her as a result of an incident on the night of Dec.11.
In a previous Herald article, State Department of Agriculture spokesperson Michael Smith said the citations involved an incident that led to the death of a dog belonging to David Frantz. The dog was allegedly attacked by a pack of pit bulls.
Smith confirmed Harn was being cited for failing to license four of the dogs, failure to have proper vaccinations for some of the dogs and failure to keep the dogs on the owner or keeper’s premises at all times.
Miller was fined $50 and court costs for failing to license the dogs, $50 and court costs for failure to vaccinate and $300, court costs and restitution for failure to keep the dogs on her premises at all times. The restitution costs amounted to a total of $756 for veterinarian bills, cremation of the dog and replacement of the dog.
