Snappy’s Convenience Store, located at the intersection of SR 350 and SR 220, Snyder Township, was the scene of an armed robbery yesterday, July 30 at approximately 10:16 p.m.
The suspect was a white male, approximately 5’ 10” and 160 lbs. He was wearing black shoes, black pants, a black shirt and black gloves. A black bandana covered his face and he wore a red bandana over his head, covering most of his hair. He is believed to have dirty blonde hair and possibly brown eyes.
The incident occurred when the suspect entered the Snappy’s store and displayed a black handgun to the clerk. He then asked the clerk to empty both registers in the store. The subject fled east on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He may have went around the back of the store and up SR 350.
Immediately after the robbery occurred, a dark red vehicle was seen driving at a high rate of speed south on SR 350. The vehicle went through the intersection with SR 220 and continued south toward SR 99. The vehicle was possibly a Chevrolet or Ford Escort.
This robbery is believed to be connected to the recent robberies in Centre County and Warriors Mark in Huntingdon County. Several witnesses were interviewed at the scene concerning the subject’s appearance.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Hollidaysburg at 696-6100 immediately.
