Alberta B. “Betty” Igou, 82, of 506 Washington Ave., Tyrone, PA, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Epworth Manor.
She was born Dec. 7, 1923 in Tyrone, a daughter of Jacob Oliver and Daisy May (King) Barto.
She was married Aug. 17, 1942 in Tyrone to Robert M. Igou who died June 12, 1986.
She is survived by a son: Randall M. Igou and his wife Connie of Harrisburg, PA; four grandchildren: Tara Mootz of Mt. Gretna, PA, Tanya Igou of Williamsport, PA, Taren Igou (Charlotte) of Philadelphia, PA and Jamie Igou (Karen) of Wilmington, DE; two great-grandchildren and longtime companion Robert Grazier of Tyrone, PA.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by a son, James D. Igou.
She was a member of the Tyrone Christ United Methodist Church and the American Legion Aux. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1941 and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will he held Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Barry Neil officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
