Catherine A. “Kitty” Sharpless, 65, of 106 E. 14th St., Tyrone died Tuesday evening, Aug. 22, 2006 at Beverly Healthcare- Hillview, Altoona.
She was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Tyrone, a daughter of Edward Raymond and Ruth Irene (Updyke) Libold.
She is survived by a daughter Ruth McClellan (Robert) of Tyrone; two grandchildren- Nicholas and Michael and a great granddaughter Savannah.
A brother R. Eugene Libold (Althea) of Waterville, Maine and a sister Sharon M. Turnbaugh (Jim) of White Deer, PA; her longtime companion Bill Rutherford of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1959 and enjoyed NASCAR racing, knitting and crocheting.
She had been employed at the former Big Yank Corp. for over 20 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Barry E. Neal officiating.
Interment will be at Seven Stars Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7 to 9.
