The Bellwood-Antis junior high boys basketball team improved to 3-1 yesterday with a 50-24 win over Moshannon Valley in Houtzdale.
Zach Dionis led the Blue Devils with a game high 15 points to go along with six steals and three assists. Troy McCrum added 10 points and four steals.
Dillon Shultz netted six points and pulled down six boards, Chad Coho scored six and had six steals, and Nate Plummer, saddled with foul troubles the entire game, scored eight points, all of them coming in the last quarter.
Tyrone led 20-16 at halftime before outscoring the Knights 17-7 in the third and 13-3 in the fourth.
“It was a big win for us after how we played in the third quarter against BG on Wednesday,” said B-A coach Kerry Naylor. “It was also big because we basically played for three quarters without Nate, and he has been our top scorer all season. We were able to dictate the tempo with pressure defense throughout the second half, and Zach and Troy made some big shots for us.”
Bellwood-Antis hosts Southern Huntingdon on Monday.
