Glenn I. Fry, 80, of Fry’s Lane, Warriors Mark, went home to be with the Lord February 28, 2007. He passed away at Altoona Regional Health Systems.
He was born November 5, 1926 in Warriors Mark, a son of Hazel Almeda (Ryder) and Chester Irvin Fry.
On January 6, 1947 he married Elizabeth (Betty) Ann (Shawley) Fry in Cumberland, Maryland. They were married 60 years.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Jan and husband Tim George of Tyrone; three sons: Glenn D. Sr. and wife Karen of Tyrone, Pastor Barry L. Sr. and wife Cindy of Hollidaysburg and Kevin and wife Annette of Tyrone; 11 grandchildren: Glenn D. Jr., Jeffery, Julie, Kimberly, Barry L. Jr., Elizabeth, Mathew, Tyler, Jenna, Kristen and Rebecca; four great-grandchildren: Mariah, Christian, Caleigh and Noah; one niece, Sandra Cuppett and one cousin, Ivalou Fisher. Also, his beloved dog, Nickki.
He was preceded in death by a sister Jane Dietz.
He was a member of the Tipton Baptist Church and served in the US Army from 1944-46 in the Field Artillery Battalion in the Pacific Theater.
He was first employed at Clasters Building Supply as a yard foreman until 1955 and then became a self employed building contractor from which he retired in 1992.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Tipton Baptist Church with Pastor John Pine officiating.
Interment at Burket Cemetery, Warriors Mark.
Friends will be received at the Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.
