Sarah Wilson grew up in Tennessee and by the age of 10 had taken several years of tap, jazz, ballet and point. She has felt right at home while performing on stage.
Sarah moved to Chicora, Pennsylvania and began to take voice lessons from Don Asely. She was quick to develop and soon landed a solo part in the Butler County Community College presentation of “MGM Movie Titles”.
Sarah also began to work on her demo CD, which is a mix of country and rock. Ken Karsh played amazing guitar work, Ron Fudoli played outstanding bass and John Schmidt did ripping percussion.
Sarah was selected in 2005 to perform in the Civic Light Opera Academy in Pittsburgh.
Sarah graduated form Chambersburg Area Senior High School in June 2006. She was enrolled in honors classes and was a member of the drama club, FCA and threw the javelin for the track and field team. She also sang the National Anthem at many sporting events including the Hagerstown Suns baseball game.
Currently, Sarah’s performance schedule is busier than ever. During the last 12 months, she has performed over 100 shows. Sarah continued to sharpen her skills and in January of 2006 her CD was released. Currently she can be heard on many of the Froggy radio stations.
Several universities accepted Sarah for enrollment, including Duquesne, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh and Point Park University. She then made the most difficult decision of her young life. She decided to take a year off, postponing college in order to pursue her singing career.
Sarah said, “I was extremely scared but know I know in my heart that if I do not take this chance, I may regret it the rest of my life. You should never let your fear guide your decisions because usually the hardest things in life are the most worthwhile.”
Sarah has performed the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 16, 2006. The Pirate organization booked her again for the 2007 season.
Sarah was selected for the Butler Musical Theatre for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”. She was also selected by the Pittsburgh Musical Theater for the production of “Les Miserables” at the CAPA Theater in Pittsburgh where she played a large roll as Fantine. She is currently a pit singer for CATS at the Byham Theater.
Sarah will be opening for “The Platters” in April.
“I have had the chance to hear Sarah’s CD recordings and she is very, very good,” said library concert chairman, Chuck Banas.
Next week, Vanessa Campagna will be showcased in The Daily Herald. She is an amazing young talent that has previously performed here in Tyrone.
Tickets for this year’s concert are now available at the three downtown ticket outlets of Bressler’s Food Mart and Sports, Kopp Drug and the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library.

The show is set for the Tyrone High School Auditorium on Saturday evening, April 21. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start promptly at 7 p.m.
