The USO has always and still does serve our service men and women of the United State of America, both stateside and overseas.
This year, the Tyrone Salvation Army Service Unit will join with the Tyrone Community Players and American Legion Auxiliary of Post 281 in their third annual “Cabaret Night – USO Tour” March 30 and 31 at the Tyrone American Legion Post.
Tickets are available by calling 684-ART2 or 684-7940.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 27-29, individuals may stop in the Tyrone Salvation Army Service Unit and use their paper, pens, envelopes and stamps to send a letter to any service man or woman in the many branches of the service.
From 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, one of the “Sallys” (an old name for Salvation Army volunteers) will help individuals with their letters, if necessary.
The letters will all be stamped and given to the USO tour people for mailing.
Stop in at the Tyrone Salvation Army Service Unit at 908 Pennsylvania Avenue and let a local hero know you admire them for their service to God, this country and the flag they serve.
Also, the public is invited to submit the address of any soldier, so that they may receive a letter. Drop addresses off to the Salvation Army or mail the information to P.O. Box 142, Tyrone.
