The Tyrone Area Community Organization held its 17th year Charter Night Banquet at the Warriors Mark-Franklin Volunteer Fire Company on Saturday evening.
Several guests and TACO members were in attendance and enjoyed a delicious meal before the awards presentations.
Incoming 2007 TACO officers include: president, Ruth Brower; vice-president, Dave Kaup; secretary, Ann Brower; treasurer, Jeanne Price; directors, Bob Grager and Buddy Daughenbaugh; benevolence director, Dave Kaup; PR/advertising director, Jessica Decoste and photographers, Misty Snyder and Steve Hanczar.
The John Eschbach Scholarship Awards were presented by TACO members: Mary Ellen Hoover, Bob Grager, Steve Hanczar, Buddy Daughenbaugh and Misty Snyder. Recipients of the 2007 John Eschbach Awards were Tyrone Area High School seniors: Tyler Hoover, Tyler Gillmen, Casie Glashauser, Shannon Shultz and Stephanie Lynn.
The Boss of the Year Award was presented by TACO member Ann Brower. Donna Miles of H & R Block, Tyrone was the recipient of the Boss of the Year Award.
The Humanitarian Award was presented by Pat Stoner. This award was presented to Jimmy Taylor for his work with the Tyrone Area School District Marching Band.
The Betty F. Simpson Distinguished Service Award was presented by Cary Simpson and Ted Simpson. There were two recipients for this award, including Bob Maser for his work at the Tyrone Salvation Army and Kellie Goodman for her work with charity projects.
Special awards for the evening were given to Bob Maser, who received an Honorary Lifetime Membership Award, and to Christina Pryor of The Daily Herald, who received a Special Recognition Award.
