ALTOONA–Tyrone Legion scored two runs in the top of the first before Sheetz even had a chance to bat on Friday, and Randy Hoover made sure that would be all the scoring the Legion George B. Kelley Federation club would need.
Hoover struck out 13 while allowing only two hits as Tyrone Legion downed Sheetz 2-0, to end its three-game losing streak.
Jamie Levinson and Matt Brooks both drove in runs with first inning singles, the only two tallies of the game.
Brooks had three hits while Mike Romano added a pair. Tyrone Legion pounded outv 10 hits in all, including doubles by Brooks and Brock Anders. Anders, Josh Clark, Jamie Levinson, and Mike Rodland each counted one base knock.
Tyrone Legion (4-6) will return to action Monday, it travels to Martinsburg to take on league-leading Barkman Oil at 6 p.m..
