Auditions for the Tyrone Community Players’ production of The Great American Trailer Park Musical are scheduled to be held in the TCP Building, located at 1019 Logan Ave., Tyrone on Sunday and Monday, September 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. each evening.
All those auditioning should be prepared to sing and read, and a pianist will be on hand for musical accompaniment.
The cast of the production will consist of two males and five females, and it should be noted that flamboyant, brazen women are needed for this gaudy, colorful musical!
TCP shared a summary of the production, in which there is a new tenant at Armadillo Acres, “South Florida’s most exclusive manufactured housing community,” and she is wreaking havoc. When Pippi, an exotic dancer, comes between Dr. Phil – loving, agoraphobic Jeannie and her tollbooth-collector husband, storms begin to brew.
Narrated with powerful vocals by three female residents of Armadillo Acres, the music is rowdy, gentle, country, pop and delightful — all wrapped into one dynamic musical package.
The production does contain some adult themes and language.
The dynamic duo of director, Cindy Bennett, and musical director, Paula Pheasant, are teaming up for what members of TCP hope will be another “standing room only” show at the Tyrone American Legion.
Performance dates for the show are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 1, 2 and 3 at the Tyrone American Legion Home, 1459 Lincoln Ave.
