The sounds of Irish music will entertain at Reservoir Park this weekend for the Tyrone Regional Arts Council’s Summer Concert Series.
The ‘Michael O’Brian Band’ will appear Sunday, August 19 at 6 p.m.
The band consists of Michael Zerbee and Brian Anderson, who met in the mid 1970s and have performed together in rock bands since 1976.
However, after listening to live Celtic music in 1998, these two musicians were inspired by the spirit of this genre of music. At that point, the ‘Michael O’Brian Band’ was formed.
This group offers an audience participation show with humor and Irish pub songs, along with many ballads and rebel tunes.
Anderson and Zerbee’s emphasis is always for the audience to enjoy their time with the band.
The band has appealed to all ages and has appeared at a variety of events in the region, including the Johnstown Folk Festival, Johnstown Heritage Festival, Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, Allegheny Portage National Historic Site, Holiday Valley Resort in New York and the Fire and Ice Festival in Somerset.
All Sunday concerts begin at 6 p.m. In the event of rain, concerts will be held at the First English Lutheran Church on the corner of Logan Avenue and 13th Street. Concerts are free of charge. All audience members should bring a chair or blanket for seating.
Next Sunday, August 26, will conclude the 2007’s Summer Concert Series featuring the country sound of ‘The Local Country Band with Clayton Hoover’.
