Auditions for the Tyrone Community Players production of “The Great American Trailer Park Musical” will be held in the TCP Building, 1019 Logan Ave., Tyrone on Sunday and Monday, September 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. each evening.
Those auditioning should be prepared to sing and read, and a pianist will be on hand for accompaniment.
The cast consists of two males and five females. Colorfully flamboyant, brazen women are needed for this gaudy, spirited musical!
TCP provided a show synopsis in which stated, “There’s a new tenant at Armadillo Acres, ‘South Florida’s most exclusive manufactured housing community,’ and she’s wreaking havoc. When Pippi, an exotic dancer, comes between Dr. Phil-loving, agoraphobic Jeannie and her tollbooth-collector husband, storms begin to brew.
“Narrated with powerful vocals by three female residents of Armadillo Acres, the music is rowdy, gentle, country, pop, and delightful — all wrapped into one dynamic musical package.”
It should be noted that the production contains some adult themes and language.
The dynamic duo of director Cindy Bennett and musical director Paula Pheasant are teaming up for what TCP hopes will be another “standing room only” show at the Tyrone American Legion. Performance dates for the show are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 1, 2 and 3 at the Tyrone American Legion Home, 1459 Lincoln Ave.
Also, TCP is excited to announce that the Casino in Altoona was so pleased with the recent “Patsy Cline” production that organizers asked if TCP could bring the next show to them!
So, in addition to the show dates in Tyrone, auditioners must be prepared to present the show the following Friday, November 9 at the Casino.
