This year’s annual Tyrone Elks Lodge No. 212 Youth Recognition Banquet will be held Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m.
The night will be a showcase of the area’s youth stand-outs in athletics, educational awards and scouting.
Highlighted will also be the “Educator of the Year” from the school district.
A number of scholarships will be presented as well as other awards.
The guest speaker is scheduled to be Kent “Teke” Tekulve, former Pittsburgh Pirate relief pitcher and current FSN commentator and Pirate Alumni organizer. Kent was the pitcher on the mound as the Pirates won the 1979 World Series.
In addition to honored guests and their families, there will be a number of local and state special guests in attendance to enjoy the presentations.
The Elks Lodge would like to offer a very special thank you to The Daily Herald and staff and WTRN Radio for their help in sharing with the community the many Elks activities and participation in the youth banquet. A special thanks to the Elks officers and members for having this banquet and their tireless dedication to the community.
Also, The Elks offers a special thanks to the corporate sponsors for the banquet: DelGrosso’s Park, M&T Bank, American Eagle Papers, New Pig Corporation, The Hancock Group, Patty and Craig Kilmer.
Finally, the Elks offers a congratulations to the outstanding youth and their families for the contributions they make toward the community!
