The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce is always busy planning activities for business and community members alike, and the Chamber has several upcoming events in the works.
This month’s Chamber Advantage Night is coming up on Thursday, and it is scheduled to be hosted by Joshua House and sponsored by Keystone Business Support, LLC and Kingdom Solutions, LLC.
There will be an Espresso Bar, refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.
Formerly known as Business After Hours, this month’s Advantage Night is scheduled to be held from 5:15 to 7 p.m.
Joshua House is the recipient of the 2007 Blair County Hall of Fame Committee’s Choice Award and is located at 123 West Tenth Street.
Chamber Advantage Nights provide great networking opportunities for people to get to know their friends and business associates.
Don’t forget a business card to enter the door prize drawing at approximately 6 p.m.
Also, the Eighth Annual Tyrone Area Business and Career Expo is scheduled for Thursday, October 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tyrone Area High School gymnasium.
The purpose of the event is to showcase businesses and higher education institutions for the Tyrone Area High School grades 9-12, Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce members and the Tyrone community. The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Advantage Night will follow the Expo from 4-6 p.m.
Exhibit tables, chairs and limited electricity will be available; however, you will be required to provide your own skirting.
A scholarship, from the event proceeds, is awarded each year to an outstanding graduating senior who plans to further his/her education pursuing a career in business.
Past participation has aided in the continued growth and improvement of this event. The Chamber hopes everyone will plan to attend and contribute toward the success of the 2007 Expo.
Registration fee is $50, excluding educational or non-profit organizations.
Call the Chamber office for more details on any of the upcoming events at 684-0736.
