On Saturday, downtown Tyrone was full of life when over 80 teams showed up to compete in Joshua House’s annual HoopsFest. The event keeps growing every year as more and more people and vendors flock to Tyrone to enjoy a day of basketball, games, food, and prizes. The weather was beautiful as kids and adults from ages eight to sixty and over hit the blacktop to show off their basketball skills. Joshua House and its director and founder, Jim Kilmartin, have been providing a safe haven for the youth of Tyrone for the past 10 years, and HoopsFest is just another example of J-House’s commitment to the community.
