Rita O‚Connel and Joe Casher

The wooded setting of the amphitheater at Reservoir Park in Tyrone is a perfect backdrop for the bluegrass sounds of Cup O Joe.
The group will perform this Sunday, July 27 at 6 p.m.
The quartet opens each performance with an a cappella version of the Star Spangled Banner. The rest of the evening’s program will contain some contemporary Bluegrass such as Alison Krauss and Ronda Vincent along with old country such as Hank Williams, Emmy Lou Harris, and Dolly Parton.
Throw in some Chet Atkins style instrumentals, a little gospel and original songs by Rita O’Connell and you have a unique program.
Cup O Joe has played at the amphitheater at Raystown Lake, the Sawmill Center at Cook Forest, Memorial Day in Boalsburg, church picnics and festivals throughout the center region.
Cup O Joe is comprised of four talented vocalists and multi-instrumentalist with decades of musical experience. Band members are Joe Casher, Monica Brindle, Dave O’Connell and Rita O’Connell.
Summer Sunday concerts begin at 6 p.m. in Reservoir Park and, in the event of rain, will be held in the First English Lutheran Church on Logan Avenue and Thirteenth Street.
Concerts are free of charge and audience members should bring a chair or blanket for seating.
This series is made possible by a grant from the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency and Tyrone Borough.
